Welcome to Fairywren music! We’re thrilled to have you join us on this musical journey, and we want to ensure that your experience with us is as enjoyable and rewarding as possible. Part of that experience involves our policies and being clear on what our expectations are so that we can work together effectively and make the most of our time. Missed lessons We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected curveballs, and you may find yourself unable to attend a scheduled lesson. That's okay! We've got you covered with our makeup lesson policy. Here's how it works: Cancellations: We understand that sometimes life gets busy and plans change. If you are unable to make your scheduled lesson, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours notice. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited. When you do provide us with timely notice, we'll work with you to organize a makeup lesson, typically within the current term. Please note that makeup lessons must be scheduled and completed before the end of the calendar year. We want to make sure you get the most out of your musical journey with us, so if you miss a lesson for any reason, please notify us as soon as possible. We value your time and ours, and appreciate your prompt communication. Illness: We understand that illness can strike unexpectedly. If you or your child is feeling unwell and unable to attend a scheduled lesson, please notify us as soon as possible. For illness-related cancellations, please text, call, or email us before 9 am on the day of the lesson, and we will schedule a makeup lesson for you, otherwise the lesson is unfortunatley forfeited. The health and safety of our students and staff are of utmost importance. Therefore, lessons will not be given to any students showing symptoms associated with COVID-19. Please do not come to the studio if you or your child are feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulty breathing. For students who are well enough to attend a lesson but are showing symptoms of any illness, we will organise an online lesson to ensure continuity in learning while prioritising the health and safety of everyone involved. In such a case, please reach out by midday so we can send you the online link in time for the class. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a healthy learning environment for all. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Makeup Lessons: We offer makeup lessons for missed sessions, with a limit of three per term. We want to ensure that you have the opportunity to catch up on any missed material and stay on track with your musical progress. These lesson will happen as an add on to your usual lesson (when possible), at another time within the week or during the term break. Substitute Teachers: In the rare event that your usual teacher is unable to be there for your lesson, don't worry! We'll provide a qualified substitute teacher to ensure that your lesson still takes place. Our teachers are all experienced professionals who will either continue with the work you've been doing or offer an exciting "adventure" lesson. Adventure Lessons: What's an adventure lesson, you ask? Well, it's a chance for you to explore new musical horizons not covered in the usual lessons in a fun and engaging way! Your substitute teacher will have a variety of options prepared, drawing on their unique skills and expertise. Whether it's lyric writing, music production, theory, technique, stage presence, or exploring different genres, you're sure to have a blast while learning something new. Teacher Absence With No Substitute: In the rare event that a substitute teacher is unavailable for your lesson, you'll have the option of either receiving a refund or scheduling a makeup lesson. This makeup lesson won't count towards your three allowed makeup lessons per term. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility in such situations. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Please don't stress if you miss a lesson – just let us know, and we'll make sure you're back on track in no time. PAYMENT Payment is completed online through the my music staff invoice and is for either a four lesson pack, half term or full term. Cost per lesson is $44.50 for half an hour, $70 for 45 minutes and $89 for a full hour. Attendance: Your lesson time is reserved for you each week, so please aim to arrive on time to make the most of it. Unfortunately, if you're late, the missed time will be forfeited as we can't extend lessons and disrupt other students' or our teachers schedules.
